wikisssss

Well it is that time of the year again children. Time to summarize my wikis

The Bob Carpenter Center wiki had a sentence or two before I added some juicy info. Mainly people helped by putting brackets around some things that should have links. That is good cause I forgot to do that for some of my wikis. Hopefully some other people will continue to contribute other information and keep "The Bob" alive.

My love for Wawa allowed me to track down interesting information that other wawa lovers would enjoy. For some reason my first post was deleted or just never posted. Im still confused about that one. But my others talked about the gasoline guarantee and Wawas community service and fundraising.

As a fellow DJ I attempted to edit the Disc Jockey wiki. My first one was deleted. I was a little angered by this. I was trying to spread the word of a DJ who started right here at UDEL from his dorm. Maybe one day ill be in the wiki for DJ.

Point of sale systems are a huge part of retailers today. Restaurants rely on them and some are unable to operate if these system crashes or goes down for a short period of time. I made some edits in this wiki how this company located in Springfield writes their own software and uses DOS which is less prone to errors. I also talked about how the inclusion of RFID will come into play and be integrated into many POS systems.
Here are some links to some of the comments I have made.

promotional mix

In class we discussed the promotional aspects of marketing and different approaches companies can take in order to keep up with the technilogical advancements. The days of giving away free logo embroided calendars are a day of the past. You can now download calendars for your desktop to alert you of important dates. It will also remind you to buy/use that companies product. Companies need to give interactive media that allow the users to gain something from the promotion. Free trials have become a great way of getting users to become invovled with the product and establish some brand loyalty along the way. Skype is a great example of this. By providing free trials of skype you will tell your friends to download the free trial so you can talk to eachother for free. You will then realize you can talk to anyone around the globe at a realativly low price and upgrade to the version where you pay money. This is the hope of the company. I myself am getting hooked on skype. My friend is studying abroad in Ireland right now and I am able to talk to him on skype. Will I buy the premium version? Possibly? If businesses keep throwing usefull stuff at me I definatly am more inclined to purchase something from them.

wawa wiki edit #3

After eating my amazing almost authentic philly chicken cheese steak last night from Wawa I thought I should write something about the things wawa has done to help the community. I wrote how in the summer of 2002 Wawa Dairy celebrated its 100th anniversary by having a week long "thirst aid tour" where delivered over 100,000 cold beverages to those who needed them the most. Wawa partnered with local food banks in an attempt to raise awareness as to the ongoing need for support. I have also been looking into some of the other things they do such as their charities and grant programs. I will post about these soon.

POS wiki edit

I heard mention of using RFID tags and POS systems in the future. I decided to add some information to my wiki concerning this topic which I think will soon be the standard in retailing and other types of businesses. I added that With the introduction of RFID tags, there are many new possibilities to integrate with point of sale systems. One of the main reasons for using this new technology would be to deter theft and also cutting costs. By using the RFID tags and linking them to the poing of sale systems, tt eliminates expensive security devices, restrictive packaging and display cages, enabling a more comfortable shopping experience for consumers. This is some very cool stuff and will soon be integrated in to much of our daily lives so keep your eye out for more info.

Wawa food market wiki

I recently ordered an amazing hoagie from Wawa and thought I should really be editing my wiki about wawa right now. I was searching for some wawa information on the wawa website. To my wiki I added information about the gasoline that they provide. They guarantee it. Pretty cool stuff. Check it out.

Bob Carpenter Center wiki edit

I was checking out my wikis and realized its been a while since i updated them. I edited the Bob Carpenter Center wiki by adding information pertaining to the cost to build the center, who built it and also some information about the arena section of the building.
